Biography
Funk Soul 70s Band London
Formed in 2001 from some of London's top young professional musicians, the band has evolved into the awesome party function band that you see today. The band never fails to impress with its huge range of wedding performance options and repertoire. It doesn't matter whether you want a live funk band, soul band, 70s disco band, 80s band, pop band or rock band; FUNKification can provide the exact mix of repertoire required. No two performances are the same!
Party Function Bands For Weddings
The band is scalable from 5 to 15-piece with a huge range of vocalist and brass section options. No matter which size of function band you hire for your wedding the performance, energy and repertoire will be outstanding. To give you an image of the band, think Earth Wind & Fire mixed with The Commitments, a dash of James Brown, a sprinkle of Aretha Franklin and a side order of Jamiroquai. The band has one of the largest repertoires of any wedding function band on the scene today. Funk Soul 70s Band Demo Material
FUNKification has many audio tracks on the media player, recorded both with and without brass section so that you can hear for yourself exactly what we do. There are many live party band recordings too, taken straight from the mixing desk at weddings in London and corporate events in the UK so you can hear EXACTLY what the band sounds like. If you are still not convinced then we can add you to the guest list for one of our live public events or even get permission to give you access to another wedding performance (subject to client approval). We want to give you every opportunity to truly understand how professional and versatile we are!

Ratpack / Swing / Jive Band Options
A selection of Ratpack/swing/jive repertoire can be incorporated into the band’s sets, if required, by choosing to 'mix and match' with some of our Swing Connection musicians. You could then maybe start the evening off with a few classic swing band tracks or even have the whole first set as Ratpack swing favourites. This does not affect the overall price, it just makes a small difference on the choice of musicians used for your wedding band.
Background jazz for drinks receptions or wedding breakfast
All of our musicians are extremely talented jazz musicians and hence we can also provide a live jazz band for your drinks reception or wedding breakfast. We would use musicians from the main evening party function band rather than bringing in a separate group of musicians. This is much cheaper than hiring a swing jazz band separately as our wedding musicians will already be at your event. Alternative Live Music Options
If you are looking for something other than a funk/soul/70s/pop band for your wedding or function then maybe one of our other function bands would suit your event better. After all, most of our musicians perform with most of our bands so you can "mix and match" any of our bands with each other to create your own bespoke package. In addition to function party bands we also have a jazz/swing band, a vocal/guitar acoustic duo, a Strolling Dixieland trad jazz band, an 'a cappella' vocal group, a marching brass funk band, a classical string quartet/duo and even a selection of wedding DJs!
